MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. The Kremlin has seen the publication by the Financial Times about the plans of the European Union to introduce duties on grain from Russia and Belarus and will analyze them, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told a briefing.

"We have seen these messages. We have to analyze to what extent and in what time frame this will be implemented and whether it will be implemented at all. After that, of course, we will draw some conclusions," he said.

The Financial Times reported citing sources that the European Commission will in the coming days introduce duties on grain from Russia and Belarus in the amount of 95 euros per ton. The publication's sources reported that Brussels hopes to halve the demand for food and increase its cost by 50%. According to the newspaper, by doing so the EU intends to calm the protests of European farmers. Several countries, including Latvia, demanded a complete ban on agricultural imports from Russia.
