Captured Polish mercenary wants nothing further to do with Kiev forces — Russian official

Vladimir Saldo first reported the capture of the Polish mercenary on December 19, 2023, saying that Russian troops had provided first aid to the Pole and promised to bring him to the hospital for further treatment

GENICHESK, January 11. /TASS/. A wounded Polish mercenary, who fought on the side of the Ukrainian army and was captured by Russian troops in the Kherson Region, wants to have no further dealings with the Ukrainian armed forces, regional Governor Vladimir Saldo said.

"The former Polish mercenary that our troops captured near Krynki says that he no longer wants to have any dealings with the Ukrainian armed forces. It was the lure of money that drove him to take part in military operations on the side of the Ukrainian regime, but the situation on the battlefield turned out to be much worse than he had expected. Now, David is warning his Polish compatriots against repeating his mistakes and risking their lives for money because the Ukrainians did not take any risks to save him [on the battlefield], but just left him behind to die of his wounds. It was the Russians who evacuated him from the battlefield and provided him with medical assistance," Saldo wrote on Telegram.

The governor also posted a video showing the captive thanking Russian soldiers for their assistance and kind attitude.
