EU, US aid to Ukraine to run dry in 2024 — Russian senator

At this critical point the Western public will begin to realize that the aid to Ukraine is pointless, Federation Council Deputy Speaker Konstantin Kosachev said

MOSCOW, December 27. /TASS/. The United States and the European Union are already reluctant to provide more financial aid and other types of support to Ukraine, and the aid is likely to run dry in 2024, Federation Council Deputy Speaker Konstantin Kosachev has told reporters.

"It [international aid] is already running dry. From my point of view, we are now past the watershed. I believe that the critical point will be reached when the situation on the frontline changes drastically, when the frontline starts to move as the Russian troops advance," he said, answering to a question of when the United States and the European Union may end their aid to the Kiev government.

In his opinion, at this critical point the Western public will begin to realize that the aid to Ukraine is pointless. The public opinion, in turn, "will inevitably influence the mindsets of European politicians."

"And, I believe, this time will come already in the upcoming year 2024," Kosachev added.
