Issue of Armenia's withdrawal from CSTO not on agenda now — Russian ambassador

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Armenian Foreign Ministry have repeatedly stated that Yerevan is not currently discussing the possibility of leaving the CSTO

YEREVAN, December 22. /TASS/. Armenia will not withdraw from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) despite the fact that the country’s representatives do not participate in the association's meetings, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin said in an interview with TASS.

"On this issue we are primarily guided by the official statements of the Armenian leadership, according to which the issue of Armenia's withdrawal from the CSTO is not on the agenda at present. As it is known, next year Armenia will chair the Eurasian Economic Union," he said.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Armenian Foreign Ministry have repeatedly stated that Yerevan is not currently discussing the possibility of leaving the CSTO, but the country’s representatives have not participated in the organization's events in recent months.
