Over 20 journalists killed in Donbass in nearly 10 years of conflict — Donetsk leader

Denis Pushilin stressed that each of those who gave their lives while covering the course of events in the region contributed to the liberation of Donbass

DONETSK, December 15. /TASS/. More than 20 journalists have been killed while practicing their profession in Donbass in the nearly 10 years since military hostilities broke out in the region, Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Head Denis Pushilin wrote on his Telegram channel.

"To our great regret, we have lost a lot of journalists in almost 10 years of conflict. In defending the Donbass from slander, they have become a target for the enemy. During this time, more than 20 reporters, cameramen and photo correspondents have died here," Pushilin wrote.

The DPR leader stressed that each of those who gave their lives while covering the course of events in the region contributed to the liberation of Donbass.

On December 15, Russia marks the Day of Remembrance for Journalists Killed in the Line of Duty, established in 1991 by the Russian Union of Journalists.
