MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. A plane of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations with 68 Russian citizens evacuated from Gaza on board is on its way to Moscow, the ministry’s press service told TASS.
"A charter flight of the Russian emergencies ministry took off from Cairo for Moscow. An Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft will airlift today 68 people, including 31 children," the press service reported.
The ministry said that its crisis center continues to operate in Egypt. People receive all necessary aid and support. Rescuers, psychologists and medics are doing their best to make people feel safe. Particular attention is paid to the children, to their physical and psychological condition.
"Meanwhile, Domodedovo Airport is getting ready to welcome evacuated Russian citizens and their family members," the emergencies ministry said. An interdepartmental operational headquarters has been opened, people will be provided with basic necessities, warm clothes and meals, as well as will get psychological and medical support, it explained.
In total, according to the ministry, 951 people have already been evacuated from the conflict zone, of whom more than 880 people, including more than 380 children, have already been flown to Russia on nine flights carried out by emergencies ministry’s planes.
