Russia, Ukraine continue contacts on prisoner swap - envoy

Rodion Miroshnik said that "this issue indeed requires silence"

MOSCOW, December 2. /TASS/. Russia and Ukraine are continuing contacts on the issue of prisoner swap, but this work requires silence, Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry's special envoy for the crimes of the Kiev regime, said.

"I would say that this issue indeed requires silence. It can not be announced. The work is going on, there are contacts at the level of authorized persons, so to speak, there are lists of people. The process of negotiations <...> is underway," he said during a Soloviev Live TV broadcast.

The diplomat in this regard pointed to the existing complexities affecting the situation. "Political factors of the ongoing changes, including on the front, they also very much affect the mood of the same Ukrainian regime," Miroshnik added.

Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin said at a meeting with reporters, bloggers and public figures in Moscow in October that the Ukrainian side was doing everything possible to delay the prisoner swap, while the Russian side was actively working in this direction.
