Russia reaffirms readiness to assist in achievement of peace treaty between Yerevan, Baku

Sergey Lavrov and Ararat Mirzoyan reiterated the demand for further contacts between Russia and Armenia at various levels, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted

MOSCOW, November 30. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed Moscow’s readiness to energetically assist in the signing of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku to his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan.

"The Russian side reaffirmed its readiness to energetically assist in promotion of Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization based on the complex of trilateral agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, signed in 2020-2022, including the signing of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku," the Russian Foreign Ministry said after the two ministers’ brief conversation on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial meeting in Skopje.

The two foreign ministers also reaffirmed the demand for further contacts between Russia and Armenia at various levels, the Ministry noted.

"The two foreign ministers discussed ongoing issues of bilateral agenda, as well as cooperation on international platforms and within common integrational associations. An exchange of opinions on regional agenda took place," the Ministry said.

The OSCE Ministerial meeting takes place in Skopje between November 30 and December 1.
