MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. The US-led West purposefully seeks to destabilize the situation in ‘unsuitable countries,’ provoking and supporting crises there, Russia’s Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev said at a meeting with CIS counterparts on Wednesday.
"The United States and its allies persistently destroy the international law system formed after World War Two, imposing the so-called order based on rules - the rules that they solely establish in their own interests," he stressed.
Western states use a broad range of tools of coercion, including blackmail, public opinion manipulation, threats of the use of force and attempts at anti-constitutional change of power, he pointed out.
"Special emphasis is made on purposefully destabilizing the situation in 'unsuitable' states, creating and subsequently supporting crisis situations in various regions of the world. In this process, NATO has finally turned into a tool of the West’s collective aggression," Patrushev said.
Washington, London and Brussels openly demonstrate double standards in the assessment of ongoing developments and compliance of particular processes with international law in order to justify their own actions, the top Russian security official said.
"We can cite a lot of examples. While encouraging the Kiev regime’s crimes and turning a blind eye to gross violations of laws and human rights in Moldova, they condemn Russia and Belarus and demand probes into events in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and arbitrarily impose unilateral restrictive measures," Patrushev said.
The confrontation of values and ideologies has switched to an acute phase, he pointed out.
"The collective West’s incessant attempts to destroy civilizational diversity, widely introduce neo-liberal ideological guidelines and aggressive individualism under the guise of universal democratic values cause growing rejection, especially in the countries with traditionally strong public, spiritual and moral principles," Patrushev stressed.
