Putin to give interview to Western media when time is right — Kremlin spokesman

According to Dmitry Peskov, for the time being, seeing as how the public is seriously brainwashed by Russophobic propaganda in one way or another, hardly anyone is capable of taking an objective view of what the Russian President thinks about the situation or what his vision of the future is

MOSCOW, September 25. /TASS/. The Kremlin receives many requests from foreign mass media to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin, but for now, the public in the West remains "brainwashed by Russophobic propaganda" and is hardly capable of objectively listening to the Russian leader's position, Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told the media.

"We receive dozens of requests daily from international media, including those in the US, for an interview with President Putin. We believe that there will definitely come a day when such an interview will be warranted. But for the time being, seeing as how the public is seriously brainwashed by Russophobic propaganda in one way or another, hardly anyone is capable of taking an objective view of what Putin thinks about the situation or what his vision of the future is. We are certain that sooner or later such a moment will come," Peskov said.

He emphasized that in talking to foreign media "Putin is always extremely frank and gives detailed answers and always explains the position of our country, and so it will be this time as well."

Asked whether the Russian president might grant an interview to US political commentator Tucker Carlson, Peskov said: "Let's wait and see."

Carlson previously told the Swiss magazine Die Weltwoche that he had tried to interview the Russian president but was barred from doing so by the US authorities. He also stated that the US administration had for decades made aggressive attempts to gain control over all US media, and most media employees were afraid of saying anything that might displease the powers that be.

On August 27, Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of RT TV channel, said on the Rossiya-1 TV channel that Carlson wanted to interview Putin and asked that this information be relayed to the Russian leader.
