Fire put out in apartment building in Yeysk, rescuers checking apartments

MOSCOW, October 17. /TASS/. The fire has been put out in an apartment building in Yeysk, Krasnodar Region, where a plane crashed into a courtyard, a source from the public safety answering point told TASS on Monday.

"The fire has been extinguished. Rescuers are checking all floors now. So far, there is no danger of the building failure. The fire engulfed the first to the ninth floor only in one section," the source said.

An Su-34 fighter-bomber crashed in Yeysk, a city in southern Russia, on Monday evening, after one of its engines burst into flames, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

The spilled fuel caught fire, which spread to a residential building nearby. The pilots ejected. Updated reports put the death toll at three, saying 21 people were injured. President Vladimir Putin has issued instructions to provide all necessary assistance to the victims of the emergency.
