KIEV, October 1. /TASS/. Ukraine’s gas transportation system operator is in talks with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to attract funds to modernize the Urengoi-Pomary-Uzhgorod pipeline, the company said in a statement Wednesday.
“Over the last two days, executives of Ukrtransgaz and representatives of European financial institutions had negotiations over modernization of the Urengoi-Pomary-Uzhgorod main pipeline at the company’s office,” Ukrtransgaz said.
The 4,451km pipeline runs from gas fields in Russia’s West Siberia to western Ukraine and has nine booster stations. The Ukrainian part of the pipeline measures 1,160km.
