NOVO-OGARYOVO, March 14. /TASS/. The share of nuclear generation in Russia’s overall energy balance can grow to 25% by 2045, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the concrete pouring ceremony at the Leningradskaya Nuclear Power Plant on Thursday
"Nuclear energy is actively developing in our country. We plan that by 2045 the share of nuclear generation in Russia’s overall energy balance will be increased to 25%," he said.
He added that Russia helps create nuclear energy from scratch in several foreign countries. "Russia is the world leader in nuclear technology. With our help, nuclear power industry is being created almost from scratch in foreign nations, an entire sector is being built, specialists are being trained, and the necessary infrastructure is being developed in compliance with the strictest environmental regulations," he said at the concrete pouring ceremony at the Leningradskaya Nuclear Power Plant.
Putin also noted that "Rosatom is constructing 22 power units in seven countries".
