Kremlin mum on mass media reports about Chinese banks auditing Russians’ transactions

Foreign economic activity "is a rather sensitive sphere and it would be unwise to speculate on it," Dmitry Peskov noted

MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov refrained from commenting on mass media reports claiming Chinese banks plan to audit transactions made by their Russian clients.

"You are aware the Kremlin is not involved in financial operations. This is the prerogative of other agencies and, above all, companies involved in foreign economic activity," Peskov said.

"Individual channels, individual systems are being implemented in each case," the Kremlin Spokesman said. Foreign economic activity "is a rather sensitive sphere and it would be unwise to speculate on it," Peskov noted. "Therefore, there is no reason to expect this," he added.
