No delays, cancellations at Moscow airports amid bad weather — aviation authority

Rosaviatsia added that all airports have enough workforce and means to operate in these conditions

MOSCOW, January 11. /TASS/. The Moscow Region’s airports - Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky, were operating as usual as of 12:20 p.m. Moscow time (9:20 a.m. GMT) with no flights cancelled or delayed due to adverse weather conditions, the Rosaviatsia civil aviation authority said.

"The airports of the Moscow Region are operating as usual. Runways are cleared whenever necessary," it said.

Specialists of Rosaviatsia and the state corporation for air traffic management have stepped up monitoring of the Moscow airports’ and carriers’ activity. The agency stressed that all airports have enough workforce and means to operate in these conditions.

Earlier, the Russian Hydrometeorological Center reported that a yellow weather warning will be in place in Moscow and the region until 9:00 p.m. Moscow time on Thursday due to wind gusts, snow and snowstorms, and until noon on Friday - due to icy conditions.
