MOSCOW, December 27. /TASS/. Russia’s share in global wheat trade may rise to 25% during this agriculture season (July 2023 - June 2024) from 22% in the previous season, according to research by the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR).
"Russia’s record share in global wheat trade is expected to reach 25% (22% in the previous year). To compare, the EU’s share stands at 11%, the combined share of the US and Canada is 20%, while the combined share of Australia, Argentina and Ukraine totals 22%," the survey said.
Grain exports may reach an all-time high of 36.7 mln tons in the first half of the season (July-December) (29.8 mln tons in the previous year), including 26.9 mln tons of wheat (23.8 mln tons in the previous year), 4.4 mln tons of barley (3.3 mln tons in the same period during the previous season), 2.7 mln tons of corn (1.2 mln tons in the previous year), according to IKAR.
