Record high number of roads built in Russia in 2023 — Putin

Over 188 mln sq m of asphalt concrete was laid in regions, the Russian leader noted

MOSCOW, December 21. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced record-breaking indicators achieved in 2023 for construction and renovation of roads in the country.

"More than 31,000 km of federal, regional and local roads will be built, renovated and brought to the standard condition across Russia at large as of the end of this year," the head of state said at the opening ceremony for the M-12 East highway to Kazan.

Over 188 mln sq m of asphalt concrete was laid in regions, Putin noted. "These are record high volumes and a significant contribution to development of the road network of our country, to improvement of quality of people’s life," the President stressed.
