Druzhba pipeline says no problems with oil pumping after shelling attempt

The Druzhba oil pipeline provides oil supplies to Belarusian refineries and its transit to Europe

MOSCOW, February 1. /TASS/. There are no problems with oil pumping through the Druzhba pipeline after the shelling attempt, Russia’s Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov told reporters.

"So far (Transneft - TASS) has not notified [anything about it], this means that there are no problems so far (with pumping - TASS), although there is probably some damage, but it did not affect the pipeline’s operation," he specified.

Transneft reported earlier that the Druzhba oil pipeline came under fire late January 31 at the Novozybkov intermediate pump station (PS) in Russia’s Bryansk Region. The company’s spokesman Igor Dyomin told TASS that the station is currently operating normally.

The Druzhba oil pipeline provides oil supplies to Belarusian refineries and its transit to Europe. The pipeline originates in the Samara Region, passes through Bryansk and then branches off into two sections: northern and southern ones. It then continues on to Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and Hungary.
