Container shipments by Russian Railways up 3.2% in 2M 2025 — company

493,800 TEU were shipped in the domestic traffic (down 2%)

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Container traffic over the Russian Railways network gained 3.2% year-on-year to 1.288 mln TEU [20 ft container equivalent - TASS] in January - February 2025, the Russian railway operator says.

"In January - February 2025, 1.288 mln TEUs were carried in all kinds of services over the network of Russian Railways, including domestic Russian, exports, imports and transit. This is 3.2% above the like period of the last year," Russian Railways said.

493,800 TEU were shipped in the domestic traffic (down 2%). The number of laden container dispatched in all kinds of the service moved up by 3.1% to 922,600 TEU (with 13.4 mln metric tons of various cargoes transported, up 3.8%).

The top three goods in terms of the shipment volume are chemicals - 136,000 TEU, up 16% annually, lumber - 91,300 (+3.2%), and chemical and mineral fertilizers - 79,000 (growth by 3.6%).
