Turkey, UAE, Egypt rank as most popular New Year destinations for Russians

It is reported that Russia is the indisputable leader in terms of New Year’s vacation demand if we take organized and individual tourists

MOSCOW, October 17. /TASS/. Turkey, the UAE and Egypt are the most popular overseas destinations for Russians at the moment to spend the New Year’s holidays, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) said on Monday.

"According to data on sales to date, the top five overseas destinations most popular among Russians for New Year vacations are Turkey, the UAE, Egypt, Thailand and the Maldives," the association said.

Russia is the indisputable leader in terms of New Year’s vacation demand if we take organized and individual tourists. Regarding the organized segment, Russia is competing with Turkey and the UAE regarding the number of bookings, the association informed. Travelers are more active than usual at present in buying New Year’s tours, ATOR noted.

According to the 1001 Tours national travel agency chain, the cost of New Year’s tours to the UAE increased from 7.1% and the price tag to travel to Turkey more than doubled.
