Arctic forum in December to feature wide range of foreign participants, diplomat says

MOSCOW, October 3. /TASS/. Russia expects a wide range of foreign participants in the Arctic: Present and Future international forum, which will run in St. Petersburg on December 8-9, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Ambassador-at-Large, Chairman of the Arctic Senior Officials at the Arctic Council Nikolay Korchunov said in an interview with TASS on the fringes of the Ecumene 2022: Global Financial Forum.

"In December, 2022, another Arctic: Present and Future international forum will take place in St. Petersburg," he said. "The event is organized by the Association of Polar Explorers, led by the Russian president’s envoy on international cooperation in the Arctic and Antarctica Artur Chilingarov."

"Traditionally, at this forum the international public, scientific and expert circles have been widely represented," he continued. "We hope, this year, a wide range of participants will take part in the event."

Moscow considers this forum as an important international platform, that makes a constructive contribution to the discussion of topical issues related to the development of cooperation in the Arctic, including international cooperation, the diplomat said.
