MOSCOW, December 3. /TASS/. Russia will be pivotal in the future system of Eurasian security, Nikolay Bordyuzha, chairman of the Coordinating Council of the Eurasian Information and Analytical Consortium (EIAK), said.
"We can talk about a Eurasian security system only when we guarantee stability in our state. <…> First, we must make sure we are this kind of state. I am deeply convinced <…> that Russia is a pivotal state from the point of view of creating a security system," Bordyuzha, who once was secretary general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), told a roundtable meeting on Eurasian security at TASS.
Russia, in his words, should bring together states that can ensure stability in Eurasia and in the entire world along with it.
According to Bordyuzha, it will take quite a lot of time to form a new system of European security. He noted the importance of security zones that could be established "by means of the existing international organizations." "They are the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), naturally, the CSTO, and some other international structures tasked to ensure security," he added.
