All of Russia’s military fleets combat-ready — Russian Navy’s commander-in-chief

Nikolay Yevmenov also mentioned the replenishment of the fleets with new equipment, adding that at the beginning of the year it was planned to commission one more icebreaker, multifunctional vessels and supply ships

MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. All of Russia’s military fleets are combat-ready, the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Nikolay Yevmenov, told the media.

"All fleets are combat-ready. These are not empty words. The combat readiness of the fleets has been verified by control checks, exercises and, first of all, the use of practical weapons," Yevmenov said in response to a relevant question.

Speaking about the replenishment of the fleets with new equipment, he said, that at the beginning of the year it was planned to commission one more icebreaker, multifunctional vessels and supply ships.

As Yevmenov pointed out, 2023 was a busy year for the Navy.

"We conducted a number of large-scale exercises. I would especially like to note the exercises in the Arctic. We conducted the exercise Ocean Shield with the involvement of several fleets. A few words about new equipment: under the guidance of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief two nuclear-powered missile submarines - one strategic and another with long-range cruise missiles - were accepted," he said.

"In addition, this year, alongside nuclear submarines, the Navy incorporated diesel submarines, corvette-class surface ships and small missile ships. Now we are preparing to accept a long-range naval ship, another small missile ship and mine countermeasures ships."

In addition to warships, this year the Navy has added support vessels," Yevmenov said.
