MOSCOW, April 15. /TASS/. More than 23,000 people, including more than 2,300 children, were evacuated from dangerous regions in Ukraine, and from the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics to Russia during the day, Mikhail Mizintsev, chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Friday.
"During the day, as many as 23,083 people, including 2,318 children, were evacuated from dangerous zones in various Ukrainian regions, and from the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics to Russia without any participation of Ukrainian authorities," he said. "Since the beginning of the special military operation, more than 821,300 people, including more than 151,700 children, have been evacuated."
According to Mizintsev, who heads the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine, more than 4,500 private cars crossed the Russian border on Friday and nearly 109,000 since the beginning of the operation.
He also said that a total of 138,733 people have been evacuated from Mariupol via a humanitarian corridor in the early direction, including 719 during the past day.
