TBILISI, July 6. /TASS/. US authorities support Georgia’s pragmatic course to normalize relations with Russia, Georgian prime minister’s special representative for relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze told journalists in Tbilisi on Wednesday.
"US officials at different levels said more than once that they support the pragmatic course of the current Georgian leadership to ease tensions in relations with Russia and normalize relations between the two countries," Avashidze said. "Georgia consults with Western partners, including with US, on issues concerning normalization of relations with Russia," he added.
"Our Western partners, including US, support Georgia’s efforts aimed at normalizing relations with Russia. Everyone understands that this is an uneasy process," he concluded.
