TEL AVIV, March 25./TASS/. Israel will not stop its military operation in the Gaza Strip and will continue to fight until it destroys the radical Hamas movement and returns all hostages held in the enclave, Foreign Minister Israel Katz said after the UN Security Council passed a resolution demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
"The state of Israel will not cease fire. We will destroy Hamas and continue fighting until the last of the abducted returns home," Katz posted on messaging platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
On March 25, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution drafted by ten non-permanent members, which demands a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during Ramadan (which started on March 10).
Fourteen members of the Security Council, including Russia, China, the UK and France, voted in favor of the document. Only the United States abstained.
