MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar strongly condemned the terror attack on Moscow’s Crocus City Hall music venue and reiterated his country’s readiness to fight against terrorism together with the Russian side, the Russian foreign ministry said after his phone call with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
"The Indian diplomat strongly condemned the inhumane terror attack on the Crocus City Hall music venue, which claimed the lives of more than 130 civilians. He reiterated India’s readiness to continue the resolute fight against terrorism in all of its manifestations together with Russia," the ministry said.
The Indian minister also asked to convey the words of support and empathy to the families of those killed and wished the soonest recovery to those injured.
On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack targeted the Crocus City Hall music venue in the city of Krasnogorsk near Moscow. According to the latest data, the death toll is 133, but may increase. According to the Moscow Region’s health ministry, 154 people were injured. Eleven suspects involved in the terrorist attack have been apprehended, including four hitmen who were trying to make off heading towards the Ukrainian border. President Vladimir Putin said in a televised address that, according to preliminary information, the Ukrainian side had been preparing ‘a gap’ in the border for the terrorists to cross it. He vowed to identify and hold to account all those behind the attack on the Crocus City Hall and declared March 24 a day of nationwide mourning.
