Presidential election outcome in Slovakia confirms need for second tour

The candidates continuing running for the presidential office are ex-foreign minister Ivan Korcok supported by 41.71% of voters and speaker of the parliament Peter Pellegrini, who received 37.53% of votes

BRATISLAVA, March 24. /TASS/. Not a single among nine candidates managed to gain support of more than 50% of voters, the Central Statistical Department of Slovakia said after counting votes at 96.83% of 5,938 polling stations opened for the presidential election.

The second election tour will be held in Slovakia. The candidates continuing running for the presidential office are ex-foreign minister Ivan Korcok supported by 41.71% of voters and speaker of the parliament Peter Pellegrini, who received 37.53% of votes.

The voter turnout was 51.49%.
