Global South becomes source of hope in reforming world order — top Chinese diplomat

China hopes to further promote unity and cooperation among developing countries to enhance the power of the South, Wang Yi noted

BEIJING, March 7. /TASS/. The Global South has become a source of hope in reforming the world order, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a press conference on the sidelines of the second session of the 14th National People's Congress (China’s supreme legislative body).

According to the top diplomat, the Global South is no longer a "silent majority" but has become "a key force in reforming the international order and a source of hope as the world undergoes profound changes unseen in a century."

China hopes to further promote unity and cooperation among developing countries to enhance the power of the South and jointly create a bright "Southern moment" in global governance, Wang Yi said.

He also pointed out that Beijing is committed to an equal, orderly, multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization that benefits all.
