Shortlists of Academy Awards in ten categories published in US

The award ceremony will take place on March 10, 2024

NEW YORK, December 21. /TASS/. The US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has published the shortlists in 10 categories for the upcoming 96th Oscars award.

The International Feature category has 15 contestants, including "Perfect Days" (Japan), "Totem" (Mexico), "Society of the Snow" (Spain), "The Zone of Interest" (United Kingdom) and "20 Days in Mariupol" (Ukraine), as well as movies from Armennia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Tunisia and Morocco.

The Sound category includes "Barbie," "Oppenheimer," "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," and "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse."

The Documentary Feature category mentions the following films: "American Symphony," "Beyond Utopia," "The Eternal Memory," "Four Daughters," "20 Days in Mariupol," "In the Rearview" and "Stamped from the Beginning."

Also, the Academy published lists of contenders in Documentary Short Subject, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Song, Original Score, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film and Visual Effects.

The Oscar nomination period will run on January 11-16. The award ceremony will take place on March 10, 2024.
