Belarusian security official points finger at West for global security crisis

"Western politicians, the United States dictate the international agenda and write scripts to unleash acts of aggression across the world," Alexander Volfovich said

MINSK, December 6. /TASS/. International organizations that were created to resolve conflicts do not do their job, as the West dictates the international agenda, State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Alexander Volfovich said at a meeting with the Brest Border Guard Detachment named after Felix Dzerzhinsky.

"Currently, they [international organizations] are not doing their main duty, their mission. Their representatives are staying in conflict areas, but they have no influence on the situation," Volfovich said, as quoted by the Belarusian news agency BelTA.

"Western politicians, the United States dictate the international agenda and write scripts to unleash acts of aggression across the world," he said.

According to the senior security official, the world is experiencing a crisis of trust on both a global and regional scale, and against this backdrop the international institutions that were set up to ensure security have lost their authority.

Volfovich pointed out that humanity has not learned anything from World War Two, creating new conflict hotspots, with one of them very close to Belarus.

"The president communicates the stance of Belarus at international venues, but regrettably, our neighbors do not listen to us," he added.
