Israeli Air Force strikes Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon — report

Israeli jets attacked the neighborhoods of Yarin and Ayta ash Shab, with their missiles setting fire to several houses

BEIRUT, December 6. /TASS/. Israeli Air Force fighter jets invaded the Lebanese airspace and struck the country’s southern areas where Hezbollah fighters set up their firing positions, the Al Wataniya news agency reported.

Israeli jets attacked the neighborhoods of Yarin and Ayta ash Shab, with their missiles setting fire to several houses, the report said.

Israeli artillery opened fire on the settlements of Alma el-Chaab, El-Jibbein, Ramyah and some others, according to the report. White phosphorus shells were used, among others, in the shelling, the news agency said.

On December 5, Shiite fighters attacked 14 border posts of the Israeli army and military barracks in Biranit, Birket Risha and Metula settlements. The Hezbollah Military Information Service said on Telegram that these operations were carried out in response to the killing of a Lebanese soldier in Israeli shelling of the command post in Lebanon.

Al Wataniya reported that the resumption of hostilities on the Lebanese-Israeli border following the end of the humanitarian truce has led to an increase in the number of refugees who are moving from the south of the country to safer areas. According to the agency, the military escalation has paralyzed life in 60 settlements near the border.
