Qatar to notify countries that have hostages held in Gaza Strip

"On each day, we aim to have a number of releases, because the number is big," Mohammed Al-Khulaifi said

DUBAI, November 23. /TASS/. The Qatari authorities will notify the states, whose citizens are being held hostage in the Gaza Strip and will be included in the release list, says Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State in the Foreign Ministry of Qatar.

"By the first hours of agreements, we will be notified on official list of people on each day. And, by having this list, we will make sure to notify either the sides, the parties themselves, or even the countries that have their hostages in the Gaza Strip currently," he said in an interview for CNN.

"On each day, we aim to have a number of releases, because the number is big. So we’ve managed to get the parties to agree on the releases systematically. In other words, there would be an organized schedule allowing the releases on each day," Al-Khulaifi specified.

On November 22, the Hamas movement announced an agreement with Israel, achieved with mediation from Egypt and Qatar on a four-day humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The agreement implies release of 50 women and children held hostage in Gaza in exchange for 150 women and children held in Israeli prisons. Previously, Israeli authorities said that the release process will not begin before November 24. On Thursday morning, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the exact time that the ceasefire agreement would enter into effect will be announced in the upcoming hours.
