WHO chief says 63 tons of medical supplies delivered to Gaza not enough

"But this doesn’t even begin to address the scale of need," he said

UNITED NATIONS, November 11. /TASS/. The World Health Organization (WHO) has delivered 63 metric tons of medical supplies and equipment to Gaza since October 21 but it’s not enough, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.

"WHO was part of the first convoy of aid to enter Gaza through the Rafah crossing on October 21, and since then we have delivered 63 metric tons of specialist medical equipment and supplies that health workers need to save lives, including to hospitals north of Wadi Gaza. But this doesn’t even begin to address the scale of need," he said at a UN Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East.

The WHO chief added that "since October 21, instead of the expected 10 000 trucks, just 650 have entered.".
