About 68% of graduates receiving a bachelor's or specialist degree and 84% of those receiving master's degrees in 2024 will find gainful employment, the office of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said, citing Deputy Education and Science Minister Dmitry Afanasyev.
"Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Dmitry Afanasyev noted that 68% of bachelor's and specialist programs, 84% [of those getting a] master's degree, and 90% of postgraduate studies graduates are expected to be employed. Meanwhile, 21% of graduates are looking at other options for work, such as service in the army, maternity leave and continued education," reads the office's statement on the results of the meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the restoration of the labor market.
In total, about 824,000 graduates getting bachelor's, specialist and master's degrees will enter the labor market this year, 10,000 more than last year. "About 35,000 more young people are completing their studies under target agreements, which means that they already have a job lined up," the secretariat noted.
According to Deputy Minister of Education Anastasia Zyryanova, 60.5% of college graduates also already have job offers, 21% plan to serve in the army, 14% will continue their education and only 2.5% may not find a job. According to the ministry, 45.2% of graduates end up in technical specialties, 10.9% in health care, and 6.5% in education.
