Russian air defenses shoot down aerial target approaching Belgorod — governor

According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or damage

MOSCOW, January 6. /TASS/. Russian air defenses shot down an aerial target approaching the city of Belgorod, said Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

"In the Belgorodsky District, an air defense system shot down one aerial target on the approach to the city," he said on Telegram.

According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or damage, he added. Gladkov said first responders were collecting data about the consequences on the ground.

Over the past two days, Ukrainian forces shelled Belgorod, the Shebekinsky and Grayvoronsky municipal districts, the Belgorodsky, Krasnoyaruzhsky and Volokonovsky districts of the Belgorod Region. On December 5, an air defense system was engaged in Belgorod, and 10 air targets were shot down. Following a Ukrainian attack on December 30, 69 people still remain in hospitals in Moscow and the Belgorod Region for the treatment of injuries.
