SAN FRANCISCO /California/, November 16. /TASS/. Attempts to politicize the agenda of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum are seen during the US presidency, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, who heads the Russian delegation to the APEC summit, told reporters.
When asked to comment on how US presidency was reflected in the APEC agenda, the official said: "We note that questions that are being raised during the summit are related to creating viable economies, to inclusivity issues, to climate issues. In general, this is consistent with the current global agenda, although there have been attempts to politicize it."
"As far as politicization of the APEC forum is concerned, we are receiving such signals, but we hope that there will be no politicization, and APEC will remain a purely economic forum," the Russian deputy prime minister added.
