Russian motion picture to compete for main prize at Tokyo Film Festival

The screening in Tokyo will be its world premiere

TOKYO, October 23. /TASS/. An opening ceremony of the 36th Tokyo International Film Festival will be held in the Japanese capital.

Fifteen motion pictures will compete for the festival’s main award. Among them is Russian film director Alexey German Jr.’s war drama Air. The screening in Tokyo will be its world premiere.

The contenders also include Austria’s Blind At Heart, the motion picture Sermon To The Birds from Azerbaijan, China’s Dwelling By The West Lake, and several other films.

The Tokyo International Film Festival has been held annually since 1985.
