MOSCOW, December 9. /TASS/. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) calls on the powers that be around the world to join forces to put an end to armed conflicts globally.

"We call on parliaments of world countries and international parliamentary organizations to pool efforts toward building and strengthening a world without armed conflicts and violence in the name of prosperity and wellbeing of all nations and countries," it said in an appeal to lawmakers across the world on the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and the anti-Hitler coalition in World War II.

The document states that lawmakers from the CSTO countries welcome the United Nations General Assembly resolution titled Combating the Glorification of Nazism, Neo-Nazism, and Other Practices That Contribute to Fueling Contemporary Forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia, and Related Intolerance and reiterate their commitment to the 1965 International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.

"We believe that coordinated joint efforts by lawmakers from all world countries will help preserve the system of vital moral values and standards for current and future generations, and consolidate international efforts in the face of the real threat of Nazism’s resurgence," the document reads.
