Over 180 experts from 58 countries observe Russian election at Civic Chamber’s invitation

The voting will take place over three days on March 15-17

MOSCOW, March 15. /TASS/. More than 180 election experts from 58 countries are overseeing the Russian presidential election at the Russian Civic Chamber’s (CC) invitation, the CC said on its Telegram channel.

"At the invitation of the Russian Civic Chamber, 185 foreign election experts from 58 countries came to Russia to independently conduct public observation," the message says.

The message was relayed during the 24-hour online stream of the CC election observing situation center, the officials specified.

The Russian Federation Council, or upper house of parliament, officially designated March 17, 2024 as the day of the presidential election. The Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) then announced that voting will take place over three days on March 15-17. Four candidates will vie for the top office, namely New People party nominee Vladislav Davankov; self-nominated candidate and incumbent President Vladimir Putin; Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) nominee Leonid Slutsky; and Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) nominee Nikolay Kharitonov.
