West does not force Armenia to spoil relations with Moscow, top security official says

Recently, the Armenian authorities have repeatedly criticized Russia

YEREVAN, March 6. /TASS/. The West does not demand that Yerevan spoil its relations with Moscow, Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan said during a briefing.

"The West does not force us [to do] anything. As for the relations between Armenia and Russia, they were not spoiled from Armenia’s side," he said.

Recently, the Armenian authorities have repeatedly criticized Russia; Yerevan skipped meetings in certain integrational formats, and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced a "suspension" of his country’s membership in the CSTO. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that Yerevan’s statements that the initial course on rapprochement with Russia was erroneous can lead to a significant review of bilateral relations.
