US State Department attempts to subvert Russia-Abkhazia relations — Foreign Minister

According to Inal Ardzinba, the US uses the UN Development Program as a tool for carrying out information manipulation operations in Abkhazia

SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, March 5. /TASS/. Abkhazia is committed to reinforcing ties with Russia and will respond appropriately to efforts by the US to undermine and subvert relations between Sukhumi and Moscow, Abkhazian Foreign Minister Inal Ardzinba told a session of the World Youth Festival (WYF), now taking place at the Sirius Federal Territory in far southern Russian which borders on Abkhazia.

"Our task as a foreign policy department is set by the Abkhazian president; it is strengthening relations with Russia. We do all we can for it," the minister said. "Regrettably, there are actually some attempts to deliver a strike against our relations; they come from the West. Some US agencies, such as the State Department and organizations subordinate to it, are attempting to undertake some steps in our country. We will give an appropriate response," the minister added.

"Our major foreign policy task is not only maintaining, but strengthening and expanding our relations with Russia, taking them to a new level. We will act within this framework despite the attempts of different structures to affect our relations negatively," he emphasized.

According to Ardzinba, the US uses the UN Development Program as a tool for carrying out information manipulation operations in Abkhazia.

The World Youth Festival is taking place in the Sirius Federal Territory in far southern Russia on March 1-7, 2024. More than 300,000 people from 190 countries have applied to take part. Participants in the festival’s regional program will visit 30 Russian cities on March 10-17. TASS is the event’s general information partner.
