Over 3.1 mln Russians apply to cast ballots online in presidential vote — elections body

MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. More than 3.1 mln Russian citizens have filed applications to vote online in next month’s presidential election, according to Central Election Commission (CEC) Chairperson Ella Pamfilova.

"In all, over 5 mln applications have been submitted, while as many as 3.185 mln voters in 28 Russian regions where online voting will be held have filed relevant applications," Pamfilova said, adding that the CEC has also received 1.87 mln applications via the Mobile Voter app.

Voters in 29 Russian regions, including the City of Moscow, will be able to cast their ballots online in Russia’s first-ever three-day presidential election on March 15-17, the CEC chair said.
