ANKARA, February 19. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Turkey is still being readied, with its agenda expected to be rich, Russia’s consul general in Istanbul Andrey Buravov said.
"Putin’s visit to Turkey is still being prepared, it will take place when it is convenient to heads of the two countries. The agenda of the talks is always busy. Those are bilateral relations, regional and international issues," he told Turkish reporters.
Turkish media reported earlier that Putin’s visit to Turkey could have taken place on February 12. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the visit was being readied without giving a particular date.
Speaking about the issue of bank transfers between Russia and Turkey, Buravov expressed hope that the problems in this area will be solved. "The issue is being discussed at various levels, including with the participation of representatives of the private sector. I hope a positive decision will be taken. The recent developments have affected Turkish companies that do not supply sanctioned products to Russia," he said.
Russian Ambassador to Turkey Alexey Yerkhov said earlier that the embassy confirmed the presence of serious problems in the area of bank transfers in the interests of Russian and Turkish participants of foreign economic activities, with necessary efforts on settlement of existing difficulties underway at the bilateral level.
