Moscow, Vladivostok declared youth capitals for 2024

Based on the expert commission’s evaluations, five cities were nominated as finalists: Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk, Murmansk, Moscow and Omsk

MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. Moscow and Vladivostok will share the youth capital of Russia title in 2024, according to a vote conducted by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.

"We decided that in 2024 there will be two youth capitals in Russia - Moscow and Vladivostok," Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office, said announcing the results of the contest at the Russia International Exhibition and Forum at the VDNKh exhibition center.

The voting took place from December 8 through 20. Based on the expert commission’s evaluations, five cities were nominated as finalists: Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk, Murmansk, Moscow and Omsk. The winning city is granted the privilege of hosting the ecosystem projects of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, such as a federal grant contest and a media promotion strategy as well as the methodological and expert support to implement the announced projects.

The Russian Agency for Youth Affairs has selected a youth capital for the second year in a row. In 2023 Nizhny Novgorod won the honor.
