Russia, China developing relations stabilize situation in world — Russian Deputy PM

BEIJING, December 15. /TASS/. The development of friendly relations between Moscow and Beijing stabilizes the international situation, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev said.

After the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation of the Russian Far East and Northeast China, Trutnev pointed out that Moscow remained interested in a peaceful settlement of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. "Unfortunately, this process is complicated by the positions of Western countries. All this together leads to the destruction of economic, cultural, and human ties, to the loss of trust between countries. These factors do not contribute to the development of humanity," the Russian deputy prime minister told his Chinese counterpart, co-chairman on the commission Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing.

"That is why the preservation and development of time-tested friendly relations between Russia and China creates one of the global axes stabilizing the situation in the world as a whole," Trutnev emphasized.

The meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation of the Russian Far East and Northeast China was held in Beijing on December 15.
