Former Slovak premier expects Russia to achieve victory in Ukrainian conflict

Jan Carnogursky noted that Crimea’s position in the world was improving

MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. Russia will win in the current conflict around Ukraine, former Slovak Prime Minister Jan Carnogursky said at the Yalta International Forum.

"Crimea’s position in the world is improving," he said, addressing the event.

Carnogursky, who chairs the International Association of Friends of Crimea (IAFC), pointed out that Western media outlets were increasingly talking about Crimea and that it purportedly belonged to Ukraine. "The reason is that they want to fight to take Crimea from Russia. For NATO, primarily for the US, it is critical to have some sort of leverage against Russia," he noted, adding: "It will continue like this until the Crimean people and Russia secure ultimate victory."

"Since I come from a NATO country, let me conclude by saying that victory will be yours," the ex-Slovak prime minister said.

The Yalta International Forum is taking place in Moscow on October 23-24. TASS is the general information partner of the event.
