Statements by Kiev, West on counteroffensive dates are useless, confusing — politician

"Everyone plays their own game, so I wouldn’t recommend to listen to or analyze their statements because it’s meaningless information, in which we could simply drown instead of doing our job," Vladimir Rogov noted

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. The statements issued by Kiev and Western countries that Ukraine is preparing a counteroffensive are nothing more than propaganda and a misinformation campaign, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together With Russia civil society group, said on Wednesday.

"With respect to the statements about a counteroffensive: Any statements are propaganda information. Because the main purpose of the enemy is to confuse us by naming various times and dates, saying they are ready or not ready. Everyone plays their own game, so I wouldn’t recommend to listen to or analyze their statements because it’s meaningless information, in which we could simply drown instead of doing our job," he said on Radio Rossii, when asked by the host to comment on the issue.

The Washington Post earlier reported that Ukraine decided to put off its counteroffensive, which was planned for spring, due to poor weather and a lack of ammunition.

CNN previously said the secret US intelligence documents that were leaked on the Internet highlighted some weak spots of Ukrainian armaments and predicted the situation would become desperate over the next few months. According to the broadcaster, the leaked documents also forced Kiev to alter its military plans.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in an interview with Funke Mediengruppe in April that Ukrainian forces could start an offensive in the next few weeks.
