High level of terrorist threat declared in Crimea’s north and east

The information about lifting the yellow terrorist threat level will be announced additionally

SIMFEROPOL, April 11./TASS/. Crimean authorities have raised to high the level of terrorist threat in five northern and two eastern areas of the peninsula, Crimean leader Sergey Aksyonov blogged on his Telegram channel on Monday.

"In connection with the special military operation carried out by the Russian Armed Forces and possible provocations from accomplices of the Kiev regime, the issues of protecting the republic and its citizens against terrorism are getting increasingly pressing," Aksyonov said.

He said that he had decided to impose the high (yellow) terrorist threat level in these areas from 20:00 local time on April 11. "This measure is exceptionally preventive," the Crimean leader stressed. "The situation in the Republic of Crimea is calm and is fully controlled by the authorities and law enforcement agencies," he specified.

The high level of terrorist threat is imposed for 15 days, until 20:00 on April 26, 2022, Aksyonov said. "This will not entail any restrictions in the daily life of the citizens," he stressed.

The information about lifting the yellow terrorist threat level will be announced additionally. "I urge the Crimean residents to be vigilant. In case you see suspiciously looking people, or find unattended objects, immediately inform the law enforcement agencies," Aksyonov said. "I once again assure you that we have enough forces and means to ensure the safety of our citizens," he stressed.

Earlier in the day, the authorities of the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Krasnodar regions also declared the high level of terrorist threat. This mode is also introduced in parts of the Voronezh Region. The measures are taken in view of possible provocations from Ukrainian nationalists.
