Fuel demands of Russian market to be satisfied — Energy Ministry

According to First Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin, Russia's refining sector faced the need at the start of 2024 to perform unscheduled turnarounds at certain refineries

MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. All the fuel needs of the domestic market will be satisfied, First Deputy Energy Minister of Russia Pavel Sorokin said.

"Our refining sector has faced the need at the start of this year to perform unscheduled turnarounds at certain refineries. I would like to note in this regard that the government in cooperation with market players is taking all the requisite action to keep the surplus of supplies to the domestic market. You have seen preventive action of banning gasoline exports made earlier and we see now and I can assure everyone that market is supplied to the extent more than needed and all the gasoline and diesel fuel demands will be fully satisfied," the official said.

"We do not see risks for fuel supplies. This is achieved on account of extra capacity utilization of plants and by using inventories where needed," Sorokin added.
